The annual College of Engineering Library II book fair, now on it’s 3rd year, will be held on November 10-13, 2009 at the Alumni Engineers Centennial Hall lobby. This year’s book fair will feature not only the latest titles in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering, and computer engineering but also titles in the life sciences, physics, mathematics, and many more. Magazines and other serial titles will also be on display. Great deals and surprise gifts await visitors.

This year’s participating book dealers, publishers and suppliers include Alexan, Academic Book Sales, A-Z Direct Marketing, Belview, CD Books International, C & E Publishing, EDCA Publishing, Forefront, F&J, Goodwill Bookstore, Linar Educational Materials, MegaTEXTS, I-group Journals, Mind Mover Publishing and PowerMac. The booths will be open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Ms. Jenny N. Lim, a member of the Bachelor of Computer Science Class of 1988 who is now based in Hong Kong, recently donated her personal collection of books to the Engineering Library II. The generous gift of books and magazines arrived at the EnggLib2 last September 2 after it was personally sent by Ms. Lim from Hong Kong via ship cargo. The library received a total of 63 titles of mostly computer science books, and 10 magazine volumes. Thirty-four (34) titles has been added to the library’s collection. They are as follows:

ACM Digital Library – vast collection of citations and full text from ACM journal and newsletter articles and conference proceedings.

ASCE Publications – American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Publications include: Books (Standards, Manuals of Practice, Committee Reports, Proceedings, and ASCE Press titles), peer reviwed journals, Research databases (Civil Engineering Database and ASCE Online Research Library), Magazines, and Contract Documents.
