Congratulations to the Best Borrowers of 1st Semester 2016-2017!

One of the goals of the College of Engineering Library is to show appreciation to borrowers who have maximized the use of library materials by borrowing the most number of books and returning them on time.

Since its launching in 2008, the Search for the Best Borrowers had always been separate. EnggLib I and EnggLib II each had its own set of winners. However, last August 2016, the Library decided to integrate the winners of the two libraries. This is in consonance with EnggLib’s identity as one even though it’s located into two different complexes.

Last February 6, 2017, EnggLib once again awarded the Best Borrowers for 1st Semester Academic Year 2016-2017. Mr. Regan Abram K. Leonardo from the Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Prof. Romarie Lorenzo, were awarded as the Grand Winners. Mr. Gil Bryan H. Saure and Mr. Jivan Chester F. Reyes, both from the Institute of Civil Engineering, came in as First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up, respectively. Mr. Jerome Lowell Q. Armes from the Department of Mechanical Engineering completed the “Best Five” as the Third Runner-Up.

The awarding was held in conjunction with the Library Faculty Committee meeting held at the Learning Commons of EnggLib II. Each winner received a certificate, I Love My Library merchandise (shirt and pin for the Grand Winners, pin for the runners-up), and a set of prizes.
The program not only promotes responsible use of library materials, but also friendship among the winners. Last year, the Head Librarian and some of the staff were also able to get to know more of the awardees through the “Meet and Greet: an afternoon with the Best Borrowers”. This year, the awardees were able to exchange ideas and express their amazement over the Library’s recognition of their love of books and the Library.
Once again, congratulations to the winners!
