The Learning Commons Facility opens on March 18, 2010

Further strengthening its commitment to provide world-class facilities and services in support of research  and teaching,  EnggLib2 will be inaugurating the Learning Commons Facility on March 18, 2010. Creation of the facility was made possible through funding from UP Diliman and the Department of Science and Technology – Engineering for Research and Development for Technology (DOST-ERDT) Project.

The TLC, as the latest addition to EnggLib II’s services, will be a dedicated facility for the exclusive use of students and faculty of the College of Engineering. It will be providing state-of-the-art  equipment and services in support and promotion of collaborative learning. It has 30 iMac stations for internet access and multimedia editing, 8 dedicated portals for subscribed online databases and local digital  collection of e-books and other media, and 5 powerful PCs for collaborative work. It also features a multimedia room where users can view films and other audio video materials, or utilize the interactive board for lectures and/ or group discussions. Very soon, Kindle readers will be available to service the e-book counterparts of CS and EEE reserve books, as well as other  relevant titles. Podcasts and vodcasts on CS and EEE topics will also be accessible via dedicated iPod Touch units.
